Accessibility Services

Meet Kelly Kiefer, MS, Director Accessibility Services.

If you have a qualified disability, this department can help provide accommodations to meet your needs.

Learn more about Student Accessibility Services here.

Hi, I'm Kelly, I work in the Student Accessibility Services Office. To get started working with us, we ask that you fill out our accommodation application on our website. The first few pages are for you to fill out and give us some information about you. And then pages four through six is to have a doctor fill out. That'll give us information about your disability and how you're managing it and what your doctor, doctor recommends for you, too. So to get that started, that process started, you need to give us your documentation. The documentation process takes about four to six weeks. So we ask that you start early. Even before the semester starts, you can get to know us and get the process started. So that way, everything is all set for the time that you started this semester. We'll accept any sort of documentation from IEP from high school or a section 504 plan. We'll also need the most recent reevaluation report. If you're working with a neurologist or licensed psychologist, we will accept the psycho evaluation report. All that documentation will give us a good insight as to who you are, and what services we should provide for you while you're here. Your accommodations might look a little different than they did in high school. We typically give students the opportunity to take the test in our testing center rather than in the classroom. And some students qualify for extra time on tests. And the other accommodations we will see by a case by case basis. We'll see what sort of supports you need and what we can provide for you. Yeah, if you have any questions just email us at accessibilityservices@gmercyu.edu.
