Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

As a Mercy institution, our commitment to DEI is rooted in our mission as well as our Core Values of Integrity, Respect, Service, and Social Justice, with a special focus on the Critical Concerns of the Sisters of Mercy: Anti-Racism, Women, Immigration, Non-Violence, and the Earth.

These values and areas of focus have always been part of our academics and our culture.

Today, we’re more committed than ever to doing the work of championing the underrepresented, advancing change and awareness, and improving DEI in our corner of this diverse world.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, I think right now especially can be seen as buzzwords, but for GMercyU it is part of our of our mission. It has been part of the Sisters of Mercy's critical concerns and the topics that they have been working towards for a very long time. Very few organizations can say that anti racism, and immigration and women's issues, and the environment has been part of their core since the start, right? And as an educational institution that has those values, that makes this work, not just something that we are actively working on, on a daily basis right now, but it makes it part of our mission. And so as we say, like as a community, that's it's centered on mission. This is our mission.
